AFTER SCHOOL EDUCATION PROGRAM
May 2019 After School Program Calendar Will be Continued in the Fall
Please note: We have added a section to let us know your email address. This address will not be shared with anyone, or any other organization. It will make it easier for us to contact you about upcoming events; fun things our students are doing; and reminders about application deadlines. If you no longer wish to be on our contact list, just let us know. We hope this will keep you more connected to GYAC so you and our students do not miss anything important!
The After School Education Program (ASEP), which serves students in grades K-12, provides homework assistance in addition to tutoring, one-on-one mentoring, instruction in health, goal setting, character skills, communication skills, anti-bullying, and cultural/recreational activities in a safe and nurturing environment. Through a partnership with the School District of Indian River County, students are brought to GYAC directly from their school and after a light snack and a short recreational time, transition into their classroom.
A Guidance Counselor is available on-site to discuss with students and/or their parents, issues that may have an impact on a child’s academic success. Students are able to discuss with counselor, individually and in groups, topics of interest to them such as bullying, peer pressure, and parental issues.
