Welcome to GYAC!

The Gifford Youth Achievement Center operates to promote a mission whereby the multiple barriers faced by many of the citizens of the Gifford Community and the Indian River County area may be alleviated and/or replaced by goals that promote the ability of youth and adults to live in a productive community whereby maximizing the quality of their lives. We also envision the Gifford Youth Achievement Center to foster holistic and balanced living by establishing a mechanism for individual growth and development for all residents.

GYAC has been fortunate to receive a generous amount of media coverage on our expansion and Ribbon Cutting to be held on May 15th.

WOW! Our Ribbon Cutting was an unbelievable success! Tons of media coverage and the community came out to support us in a big way. Now that the surprise is out, welcome to the new Cis and Bill Glavin Educational Center. We could not have done it without the support of all of YOU!

Approximately 300 guests attended the Ribbon Cutting which included keynote speaker Dr. Edwin Massey, President of Indian River State College; David W. Jackson, representative for Congressman Bill Posey; John Binkley of Edlund, Binkley Architects & Associates; Andrew Kennedy and Patrick O'Neill from Proctor Construction and a sweet prelude by our young Dream Weavers Choir.

Thank you also goes to Bill Glavin, for his sweet words of support and gracious acceptance of having the new expansion named after him and his wife, Cis. We at GYAC are honored to have their names representing the generosity, support and love that we have treasured for as long as we have known them both.

The look on Freddie Woolfork's face was priceless as Angelia Perry and Peggy Gibbs unveiled the plaque dedicating the new outdoor reflection patio in his name. What a well deserved honor.
