At GYAC, students enter with a purpose (learn, grow, discover), perform to the best of their abilities, and exit more prepared to face life’s challenges, both at school and beyond.
Youth Programs
Degreed teachers, dedicated staff and volunteers and an extensive network of community partners, drive students to take advantage of educational, cultural and social opportunities that inspired students to discover untapped talents and possibilities.
Afterschool Education
Designed for students in grades K-12, GYAC’s After School Education program offers homework assistance, tutoring, cultural enrichment, recreational activities and character building.
Need transportation help? Through a partnership with the School District of Indian River County, students are transported to GYAC directly from their school. After a light snack and brief recreational break, students transition to their classrooms for academics.
Summer Camp
A healthy balance of academics and recreation enables GYAC to prepare students for the year ahead while allowing plenty of time to enjoy everything summer break has to offer. For only $45 per week, GYAC’s Walter M. Jackson Summer Camp includes academic reinforcement in the morning and recreational activities in the afternoon.
Why the focus on education? If not engaged in educational activities during the summer, studies show that students start school further behind in the fall than they were when summer started.
Youth Employability Program
GYAC’s Youth Employability Program (YEP) is designed to not only prepare today’s youth for the workforce, but to also give them a leg up in navigating and developing a successful career path. Whether they wish to explore a career in engineering or healthcare, YEP pairs students in grades 8 – 12 with local employers in their industry of interest to gain exposure and experience. Students in grades 5 – 7 can take part in the Pre-Employability Program (PREP) in preparation for the YEP.
Senior Programs
GYAC’s seniors programming was born out of desire to serve nearby residents searching for community resources, social interaction, fellowship and educational opportunities.
Beyond Special K
Serving adults and seniors, BSK provides a variety of educational, social, recreational and cultural activities. From bi-weekly exercise classes to social outings and specialty workshops, BSK allows participants to interact with one another in a caring, supportive and friendly environment.

Mobile Food Pantry
Made possible through partnerships the with Shining Light Garden and Treasure Coast Food Bank and For the Love of Paws, GYAC distributes a combination of fresh, non-perishable, and cat/dog foods two times per month.
